Description
The complex operation of forestry machines in the forestry work environment places high demands on the machine operator. Inexperienced operators are unable to meet these requirements during their learning phase, resulting in very low productivity during operation. On the other hand, experienced drivers are facing a high workload under the very varying working conditions during long shifts.
Assistance systems offers a high potential supporting both new and experienced forestry machine operators. In this presentation, we will show various assistance system realised in modern forestry machines, integrated in HSM series machines and in HSM research prototypes. This will cover assistance systems for driving, safety, environment monitoring and operating a forestry crane. The goal of these assistance system is to support the operators towards a safe workplace and increasing efficiency and productivity.
